Christmas Day

Last night we went to midnight mass, it was beautiful. We went up to the Benedictine Monastery. Then we came back down and had snacks with our friends and the Alvarez family. This morning we opened up presents and skyped with some family. Today was a crazy day. We went to two birthday parties and also to a Christmas gathering. Having tropical weather and sweating today made it hard to believe it was Christmas. But today was very blessed.   I'm so thankful to be in missions again.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Christmas,

Abi

Faith Camp 2012

Its almost that time of year again, Faith Camp time!   For those of you who don't know Faith Camp is a summer camp put on by FMC.  Here is a link: http://bestweekofyourlife.com/Best_Week_Of_Your_Life/Home.html
Here is my story waaay back from 2010 http://veritasspelndor.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-story.html
Faith Camp changed my life and this year I get a chance to serve the kids who are going there.  I am signed up to be a Cabin Leader.  I am a little nervous about this, because I'm not an outgoing person, and I will have to start cabin time discussions and other such things.  But I know that with God's help I will be the leader He is calling me to be.
So yup, this is going to be the next two weeks of my life.

God Bless,
Abi

June

June is going to be a busy but fun filled month. Today our missionary partner Sid is going down to pick up some more missionaries!! I can't remember if I told y'all or not so I tell you again. This month we are having a group down and with them we are doing SSME. Its a month long school where you learn head on what missionary life is like. We are all very excited about it, there will be four missionaries who help to lead it, James among them. Then next week the participants will come and then it starts.
More updates soon!

News

Blessings on this fine day! Here are some pics of the baptism of Isaac, and our family with our friends the Majors and Father Francis.
And here is a letter to our old friends back in Oregon.

Dear Ace Students,
Oh how our family journey has been! Our way has been long, but very blessed. On April 18 we welcomed baby Isaac into our family. He was 10 lbs 9.5 ozs. He is now a month old, and doing great. So far we have been down to Abbeville, Louisiana once, to see what it was like and meet every one down there. It was a lot of fun, and it confirmed our feeling that we were called to missions. We spent time in prayer and community with the many missionaries that were with us.
We got back on May 11th to get ready for our grandparents who were traveling from Oregon. The Sunday after they arrived we celebrated little Isaac’s baptism and Rachel’s first communion. As of now we are waiting for when we feel its time to back to Louisiana. So as we wait we spend time working and living as a family.

Week 1 of 4

Hum...? My favorite food? Anything with potatoes! I'm addicted to them! Once I tried some without having cooked them, and I liked it! My whole family said I was wired. LOL!
Some times the meal person for the day will ask me what to make and I'll be like "Potatoes!"
After awhile the whole family is sick of them!

My other food love is apples! One thing I love best is to grab a good book and an apple. My favorite kind is Fuji. The best kinds are red and green colored. I could probably eat three or four a day!

So there it is my food love confessions, hope you liked it. lol

Chips in my Lasagna

Okay prepare yourselves this is funny.

Yesterday Mom had Frodo and I do some Supper and Lunch stuff ahead of time, just so it would be easier. So I made the lasagna sauce, it was wonderful, it had lots of onions ad spices. Oh did I LOVE it! Then I looked in the fridge...ops no room.
"Okay," I thought, "I'll just leave it out on the counter."
Frodo and I clean up and leave.

Now it's lunch time, Frodo's making it. I come in and..."OHMYGOSH WHAT ARE YOU DOING!'' I almost yell. What I am seeing is this, my brother is putting MY sauce on his nachos! He completely forgot that HIS beans are in the fridge. And to make it worse we don't have any tomatoes of any kind in the house.

So as a result four things happened.
1. We had to take off the sauce with spatulas.

2. We had lasagna on our nachos.

3. We had chips in our lasagna.

4. And my pride was humbled.

Yes we defiantly learned some stuff that day.
